Our youth swim lesson program works with children ages 6 – 12 years. Classes are progressive and will focus on a variety of skills based on the child’s individual ability at the time of lessons. For beginner swimmers, our classes will focus on developing comfort going underwater, self-rescue skills, body position/control, changing directions and forward movement. Intermediate swimmers will focus on the above skills performed at longer distances, in addition they will learn side breathing and integrated arm/leg action with basic stroke technique. Our advanced swimmers will focus on stroke technique for front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly with progressively longer distances being practiced. Treading water skills will be also be introduced and practiced.
