Players at this level have good all around pickleball game. They are expected to have the ability to implement game strategy, know shot selection, good feet movement, and court awareness. Intermediates are expected to have all shots in their arsenal; drops, lobs, drives (with top spin). Players need to be able to do speed-ups, sustain dink rallies, and defend against drives, among other aspects of the game. Some differences between Intermediate and Advanced include; less consistency, more un-forced errors, undeveloped backhand drive/drop, drips (hybrid) and precise ball placement. Level of play is considered to be 3.5-4.0. In this league players should have had experience playing in Pre-Intermediate League with a good win/loss record, have played in Pre-Intermediate Open Play or have played competitively against other Intermediate players competitively. This level of play is expected to be competitive in nature yet having fun.
